middle_drive aka Google Drive sync to data yaml files

Hi there,

I did a prototype for syncing data from Google Drive to data (and locale) yaml files for Middleman. I’m here to ask what do you think about this idea. Does someone find it useful at all? Here is GitHub link.

Since Google Spreadsheets doesn’t support rich html editing (of course they don’t,) this extension is pretty limited, but does the job if you want to gave anyone else an ability to add/edit/remove content.

Thanks and best

Madness! I love it, though I would never use it.

FYI, you may find Prose of interest to you. It’s good for letting another person edit your pages and YAML.

hey.

thanks. I know Prose.io, but isn’t it built to work with jekyll or/and GitHub pages? I know you can edit markdown pretty well with it, but editing YAML isn’t something I’d let the customer do…

I didn’t liked it very much because of the whole setup, because you if you want to let your customer edit, they need a GitHub account and the setup of this bridge, which lets you connect prose with your private repository is kinda awkward.

Agreed. Prose isn’t a customer-facing interface. It does handle Middleman quite nicely, I’ve found, YAML and all.
