Set blog article date earlier than today

Hi!

First of all - thanks for this great tool!

I have a question, though. The solution might be obvious or noobish (because I am ), but please bear with me here

What I’m trying to accomplish is to build a portfolio page. Every porfolio item is a blog article. Some of my works I want to show are a few years old, so I thought it would be nice if i try to post them with a date they were approximately published. This way the readers should see them in right “timeline” or chronological order.

I tried to just set the post filenames (2012-04-10-wow-what-a-nice-work.html.markdown) and date in post data section (date:2012-04-10) accordingly and hoped that this will do it, but the console gives me an error ( … filename doesn’t match the date in its frontmatter). Is there any simple workarounds or am I completely on a wrong track here?

Thanks,
Oliver Maaker

Hi Oliver,

There’s no reason you shouldn’t be able to do that. Could you post a more complete example somewhere?

Thanks,
Pete
