Version 5 abandoned?

I see on Github that v5-rc1 was released over a year ago, but since, there was only development on the v4 line with semi-frequent releases.

Is v5 abandoned? What’s its status and should I use v4 or v5 for a brand new project?

Ironically, my post asking if v5 is abandoned is also abandoned. It’d be super helpful to get clarity on this please!

I think this forum is abandoned, rather. You might have better luck raising this over at github: https://github.com/middleman/middleman/issues

Middleman been slowly dying for last few years.
Lack of support/contributions + new, better static generators don’t make me feel like 5 is going to be ever released.
